To Be or Not to Be ?

image copyright: Dreamer

From the bottom of her heart, she said

“To be is the answer” and yet the answer

To my questions Lies within her whisper

And behind her smile, my heart replied

In fast beats “you’re the one I only need”

“You’re the white angel none but I can see”

To be or not to be? You are the answer!

Help Me Understand

America >
< USA

I’m not a son of yours and yet,
You’re mine and your enemy is mine
I celebrate your victories
And share your aches
I attend your mourning
Though you’ve never been a mother to me
Your blood runs into my veins
As my blood would run for you
Your kids are all my brothers
Despite being another mother’s
Today I wake up to find myself at a loss
Unable to tell a brother from an enemy
Or a cousin from a son, do help me
Your sons are fighting over your injuries
Each claiming a drop of your tears
An enemy in a brother’s gown
And a child turned into a traitor
Tell me what to call your enemy?
And how to recognise a friend in the crowd
While your kids fight over your injuries
And over milk from your breast
They‘re fighting over your grief
They used to die to give you a breath of life
Now they die to accelerate your death
Each claiming a piece of your torn body
Do help me understand, I am at a loss
Not knowing where to stand
Am I to fight your enemy or
Shall I defend you against your own children?
Who are killing one another in your name?
Do help me

The charming Sabrina was weaving words
While we listened to the stories she told
She was skilled at making the alphabet sing
And was able to make rimes think
Poetry was obedient to her symphony
between her fine lips languages made harmony
To each other they listened to make one
She had a heart with room for us all
The lover, the charmed and the silent
The reader, the friend and the son’s call
Sensitive to the painful and the happy
A caring and present sweet angel
Of whose magic one would never have enough
She’s the candle that burns to light us the way
To spread words of love and joy
A struggling lady of a unique kind
With noble principles and a sense of duty
Proud strong red skin with a free mind
She belongs into the realm
Of the wolf in the cold jungle
Where human nature has a mirror
The charming Sabrina, the source
Of inspiration, the essence of admiration
We all love you Sabrina

Time For Poetry

Mahmoud Darouish

My Mother

I long for my mother's bread
My mother's coffee
Her touch
Childhood memories grow up in me
Day after day
I must be worth my life
At the hour of my death
Worth the tears of my mother.

And if I come back one day
Take me as a veil to your eyelashes
Cover my bones with the grass
Blessed by your footsteps
Bind us together
With a lock of your hair
With a thread that trails from the back of your dress
I might become immortal
Become a God
If I touch the depths of your heart.

If I come back
Use me as wood to feed your fire
As the clothesline on the roof of your house
Without your blessing
I am too weak to stand.

I am old
Give me back the star maps of childhood
So that I
Along with the swallows
Can chart the path
Back to your waiting nest.
